How To Keep Your Nails Healthy| Tiffanyblueandloves

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Now, judging by the title, you'se must all know by now that this blog post is going to be based on NAILS. Yass, I love nails. Out of all personal care, nails is probably one of the most time I spend on. More specifically I am going to be talking about how to keep your nails healthy. Now, I know that my nails are not the 'perfect' nails, even though there is no such thing as perfect to me, everyone is unique and perfect in their own ways, but I would consider my nails as pretty healthy as I have noticed that they do not chip easily and neither are they brittle. I mean, regarding the shape of my nails, I personally quite like it, but they're more towards the 'square' side of nails but I guess that's not much of a problem. Before I start my tips, I would just like to leave a picture of my nails so you could see:

But anyway, now getting onto the actual TIPS!

***

My very first tip is to take care of your diet. You know, I never believed my mum when I used to moan about my skin, nails and hair and she would always tell me to take care of my diet, I used to just ignore that. But now I realize how right Mamma was. What you eat can be reflected on your outside and therefore you need to eat well in order to have the nails you want. Our nails are practically made of a PROTEIN called keratin and so you seriously need to make sure that you have enough protein in your diet. The one thing I love to pieces and have around 3 times a week is egg, hahha. It makes so much of a difference. Now, here's a little story that I wanna tell you'se amazing people about me and my sister. So, my sister till this day doesn't have egg, she just doesn't like it for some reason, but I'm totally opposite, I love egg and incorporate it within  my diet in many ways. My sister always comes up to me and asks me how I get my nails to grow so fast and how they don't chip because her nails are not neccesariy unhealthy but they don't grow as fast and even if they do they tend to chip. Also, I tend to have quite an oily scalp, in fact it's very oily and her scalp hardly produces any oil. So then I finally figured out that this was due to the fact that she didn't eat egg. Essentially, your hair and nail cells are all made of protein and therefore we need to provide it with all it needs so that us girls can be on our nail game (hahha, get it?? Brow game, nail game, lol).

My second tip is to have a lot of water. You know, water is just that one beautiful blessing of god that we take for granted and we really shouldn't because some of us waste so much gallons of water and some unfortunate people in many poor countries spend 8 hours collecting it so use it wisely :)

Another tip is something that all girls love to do, I mean, personally I'm obsessed. I'll give you a little moment to guess. Hmm... Take a guess. Yep, you guessed it, NAIL POLISH. Now obviously nails are amazing and we love decorating using our intuition/imagination. I'm not even saying it's wrong, we're girls so, yep! The nail polish isn't really the problem, the real problem is the nail polish remover, it strips off some of the natural goodness to protect our nails and make them healthy. So, try to minimize the use of a nail polish remover, I know that we have no other option to remove nail polish with unfortunately. But if you still want your nails to look cute, you could totally wear a nail color for a whole week instead of changing the color every other day.

Now, this tip may seem a bit short but it's one of the biggest tips that have actually worked for me. When cutting your nails, make sure that you look at tips of how to carefully cut your nails to prevent them from breakage, this will help your nails by preventing them from chipping and tips that will not damage your nails.

My last and final tip is OLIVE OIL. Just like our scalp needs massaging, our phone needs charging and we need sleep our nails need a bit of love as well. So, to stimulate healthy growth of nails, every 2-4 weeks give it a good rubbing so our nails and cuticles stay nice and healthy. Remember, if you haven't got a good base, you will most likely not have a great result.

That was all for my tips ladies. I really hope you enjoyed. Leave any comments below if you have any questions and I'll love to answer them. I do realise that almost every girl takes pride in their appearance, but just remember that it's not our outside that defines us, it's our INSIDE that matters. Lots of love xo
